Komoro City has long flourished as a commercial city on the Hokukoku Highway. The north side of Komoro Station is an urban area, but many old tombs remain.

Spot ① The impressive “Dragon Pine” in “Kaiouin” is over 380 years old

Point of interest. An ancient burial mound of Soto sect built in 1536. It was in Komoro Castle during the Sengoku period. It is said that the East Army led by Hidetada Tokugawa in the Sekigahara period battled in the Battle of Ueda and attacked the Sanada. Tokugawa then lay siege to Ueda Castle. It is also a place that Komoro city's flower “Komoro Viloet” can be seen.

Spot ② “Jojuji”, a hilltop temple overlooking the city of Komoro

Point of interest. Jojuji Temple in Rokku, Komoro is a famous name that Kobo Daishi founded in the Takibara area of Komoro. In 1504, he moved to his current location as a castle gate guard. The six towers of Jizo-in, Kesoo-in, Myoo-in, Enko-in, Enkou-in and Taishi-do, which were built in front of the gate during the Muromachi period, are said to have originated the six names. The precincts where the pond is located become a landmark rhododendron garden in May.

Spot ③ The old tomb “Yorenji” in the city

Point of interest. The Jodo Shinshu temple was founded in 1493 in the beginning of the Sengoku period, when it was awarded the temple name “Yorenji” by Renjo Honganji. Despite being in the city, there are main halls, bell towers, and Kyodo. It seems that the bell donated by Sumo wrestler Raiden Tameemon is left behind.
